RMRU members present were also pleased to see awards presented to a number of deputies with whom we are quite familiar.

Former RMRU member and now Deputy Sheriff John Dempsey was given a Lifesaving Award for saving the life of an inmate at Southwest Detention Center. Corporal Todd Garvin, with whom the team has worked closely for over a decade, was awarded the Medal of Valor for his work on a large operation in northern California.
