We were called because a woman had witnessed her husband's plane crash into the side of a hill while she and her daughter were watching. This was one of the pilot's first flights since obtaining his license and his best friend had come along for the ride. Both were fatally injured. The plane had to be cut open before we could remove the bodies.

Additional Note: The NTSB report (LAX94FA138) indicated that the pilot lost control at low altitude because he was under the influence of marijuana and alcohol.

Team members are dropped off by helicopter at the crash site
