Man missing from Pine Cove area

We received a warning call on Tuesday, August 1st, at 8:00 PM notifying us a possible up-coming search for Kenneth Fry, 38 years old, last seen in the Pine Cove area. On Thursday, August 3rd, at 3:28 PM we were called out to start the search. RMRU searched until 11:00 PM and then continued at 8:00 AM on Friday. The search was terminated at 1:00 PM on Saturday.

On Tuesday morning, a jogger running along a trail in the San Jacinto Mountains discovered Kenneth's body at the bottom of a steep embankment off McGovern Road less than a mile from Kenneth's home. Kenneth FryThere were no signs of trauma to the body and it was originally unclear what caused the death. Later, an autopsy determined that Kenneth died of a heart attack. He suffered from a cardiovascular disease that causes fatty deposits on the inner walls of the arteries.

A memorial service was held the following sunday at the Chapel in the Pines.

In addition to RMRU members, searchers consisted of: 6 canine teams, 2 Mounted Posse, Riverside Sheriff's helicopter, Mountain Community Patrol, and RACES.
