Jim helped found RMRU in 1961 and served as an active team member for decades before retiring just a few short years ago. He truly dedicated himself to search and rescue, showing up to nearly every mission during his forty-plus years on the team. He had encyclopedic knowledge of the mountains, was a skilled ethnobotanist, and had a passion for sharing his knowledge freely with others. He was a scout leader for many years and recently helped tutor children at his church's school.
