Introduction to RSS

So what is RSS? It stands for Really Simple Syndication and it is a way for us to alert you when there is new content (like mission write-ups) posted to our web site. It works better than email, because you control it. All you need is an RSS program to run on your computer. In fact, many browsers and email clients already support RSS.

You may not have noticed RSS "feeds" before, but many web sites have them. Most major news sources allow you to subscribe to RSS feeds to keep current on news that interests you.

So how do you subscribe?

Look here for instructions if you use either the Firefox or Safari web browsers.

Click here if you want to use Internet Explorer to read the RSS feed or here if you want to use Microsoft Outlook.

This should be enough to get you started. If your RSS client asks for the feed location, give it "http://www.rmru.org/rmru-rss-feed.xml" (without the quotes). Please email us if you need help or if you just think this is the coolest thing in the world!

Bored or confused by all this? Try clicking and your browser just might subscribe automatically, though it seems to be more intuitive in your email client.

Oh, and one last thing: Be patient if this doesn't work perfectly at first. It's something new we're trying and there may be some bumps along the road.
