The Isomata dean of students reported to the Sheriff’s Office that two male students had failed to attend evening rehearsals and were late for the dorm check-in. RMRU responded to the call-out. Base was established in the parking area off Apela Drive and three teams were sent into the field.

It was established that other students had last seen the boys heading in the direction of the Grotto. Two teams hiked through the Grotto and one team drove down toward the bottom of Bee Canyon. One hour into the search the boys were found hitchhiking up highway 74 near Cranston Station.
