In the Afternoon the Sheriff’s Office received a call that a six year old girl was missing from the Piņon Flats Campground. RMRU responded to the call-out. While in transit to the base at Piņon Flats Station the personnel in the rescue van intercepted the girl with her rescuer, an off duty Sheriff’s deputy and Piņon Flats resident, who had heard the call-out on his radio and immediately walked out his door to initiate a search.

He had participated in the Travis search (the missing three year old, mission 1991-009) and did not want a repeat of that outcome.
