Tom and Panda Stead thought to be overdue

Friends called to say that a couple did not return from a day hike. Team members responded to Humber Park and started hiking up the Devil’s Slide Trail. The couple was going to Tahquitz Valley, so the first team went there.
As they yelled through the valley the got an answer. They closed in on the calling and talked to the couple, who were nice and warm in a tent and sleeping bags.
They said they had always intended on spending the night and were not due out until the next day.
The teams said good night and hiked back out. Everyone was out by 6:00 a.m. and had a nice breakfast before going off to work or sleep.
