Two lost hikers calling on cell phone

A weekend winter training exercise for the RMRU team was interrupted when two overdue day hikers were reported missing in the very area where the training was being conducted. The two had already spent one night out when RMRU got the word. The extremely cold hikers were located later that night and escorted to the Long Valley Ranger Station. For these two, survival a second night out in such conditions would have been doubtful. The team took the pair to the Tram the next day in good condition.
